Avy

Avy was more than a cat — she was a soul cat, a best friend, and a deeply loved companion whose little routines filled everyday life with comfort and meaning. Her name was short for Aviation, but to the hearts that loved her she was also Avy Baby, Love Bug, Little Love, Moo, Moo Moo, Chicken Nugget, and so many other sweet names that belonged only to her.

She was a talker in the most special way. Almost every time someone spoke to her, Avy would answer back. She waited at the bedroom gate when her family came home, chirped softly when she saw them around a corner, and made her tiny thuds on the stairs when she was coming to join them. Her presence could be felt in every room, every routine, and every quiet moment.

Avy was curious, clever, and full of personality. She loved exploring closets and the basement, sniffing everything from food to paint brushes, and proudly claiming places she knew were hers. She was the boss, and she knew it — whether she was keeping the dog out of the kitchen, stealing a taste of tuna, choosing her nightly treat, or taking back her favorite seat on the couch.

She knew how to sit, give high fives, ask for kisses, and fill the night with tiny crunches, purrs, and even loud snores. At bedtime, she had her own routine: treats, food, litter box scratches, then hopping onto the bed to settle near the pillow. Every night carried the same familiar comfort of Avy being exactly where she belonged.

She loved her cat tree, windows full of sun, chin scratches, red string, tinsel balls, catnip toys, and being close during work or streams. She had her own chair by the desk, and she always found a way to be near the person she loved most. If someone was sick, she cuddled. If someone was late to bed, she reminded them. If she wanted attention, she made sure she was impossible to ignore.

Avy was trusting, funny, brave, stubborn, affectionate, and deeply loved. In her final moments, she reached out with her paw, held a hand, and rested her cheek there — a final gesture of the bond she shared so deeply.
